For those that like to travel, there are usually two different types of locations to consider planning a vacation to. The first type of location is the typical foreign tourist trap that caters to visitors and has not much to offer other than a nice landscape. Next, is a place that has a very rich culture and a history that is that is intriguing and waiting to be adsorbed. Algeria, is a bit of both. Since it is located next to the Mediterranean Sea there are some very nice beaches, but also there is so much history that surrounds this area it is simply amazing! In fact, there are a total of seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites here. This is a special honor that is given to places in the world that have very significant historical or geological significance to the earth. So if this sounds like a place that you might like to visit, just make sure that you have your passport ready to go. If you need a lost passport replacement, your best bet is probably to go online.

Online services are great to use because they are so convenient. You can use their online application systems 24 hours a day, and you also do not have to go through the hassle of standing in line at a brick and mortar location. Also, they typically offer any passport service that you need such as the replacement of a lost US passport.

When you arrive in Algeria, get ready to do a bit of exploring. There are so many interesting things to see here! Probably one of the best places to start your exploring is at Algeria's capital city, Algiers. This city is located near the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and is full of things to see and do. It is split in to two different areas, the ancient city and the modern city. The ancient city is located behind the town on a steep hill and is a great place to get a look at where Algeria started its roots.

During your visit you will certainly be traveling to see a few of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. For instance, Mzav is an ancient area that is famous for the architecture. The people that lived here long ago made sure to construct their city in a way that was adapted to the surroundings. It also is divided into five different areas that are separated by walls with each area having something special to offer. Another UNESCO site is Tipaza which has some amazing archaeological remains. Here you can see Roman ruins as artifacts left over by an ancient race of warriors, The Phoenecians.

Also worth mentioning is the Beni Hammand Fort, a fortified city built around the year 1000 a.d. that is one of the best examples of a Muslim fortified city. Djemlia is a location that features some amazing roman ruins, arches, theaters, temples, and lots more.

Tassil n'Aijer is a National Park that has a desert mountain range as well as a Bioshpere Reserve. This location is very interesting to see because it has been affected greatly by erosion that has created some amazing landforms such as natural arches formed out of rock, and more.
